SA380TX MS1/2 Master with SA380 Slave

TAKE NOTE!

This article describes how to interface the older SA380TX1 with SA380.

This system was never intended for production and has been superseded in SA380TX modstate 3.

Only use the method below as a last resort.

Overview

Master logger firmware: 1.5T446.

slave logger needs 4.0.6 or prior version.

The SA380 data logger can have one SA380 slave attached over Ethernet. This has been used in several level crossing installations where additional channels are required. It can also facilitate use of the push model with the SA380TX pushing data to a central server such as centrix.

  • A Single SA380 slave is supported
  • The connection is over ethernet
  • RS485 slaves are also supported simultaneously

The following illustration shows how the devices are connected together:

SA380 Configuration

The SA380 will be configured in the factory as a slave unit under normal circumstances.

You will need to save this setting and return to this page to see your slave SA380.

Copying Channel names

On installation, it can be useful to copy channel names from the SA380 to the SA380TX. This can be performed from the configure DIPs display as below:

The "read channel names" button will collect an update the SA380 TX's channel names to match those from the SA380. This should be done with "Push to server" Enabled if you want the DIPs to be pushed to the central server.

Editing Channel configuration

Channels are added to the normal channel configuration on the SA380TX. Thus they can be edited as normal:

The channels on the slave SA380 will appear at the bottom of the channel list (assuming only one slave logger) and start from channel 384. They can be

Confirming connection

Confirmation of connection must be performed through the configuration pages. Thus the following sequence is requried:
