ECENTRIX APPROVEDNR II/RADAR APPROVED

The latest release of SA380TX firmware is now available and is approved for use on both the MPEC Centrix platform and the Network Rail RADAR platform.

  • The key features of this firmware release are highlighted below as normal.

  • It has been a significant time since the prior RADAR approved firmware release. RADAR users may not be be familiar with many of the changes documented in prior releases, therefore a summary of the key changes is provided below for reference.

New Features

SA380TX Mod State 5.0 has now been released. This Mod State incorporates a 4G LTE Modem.

  • Firmware version 1319 is the baseline firmware for Mod State 5 SA380TX dataloggers

  • Firmware version 1319 is backwards compatible with Mod State 3 and 4 SA380TX dataloggers

Bug Fixes & Improvements

  • Fixed clock setting behaviour at boot. The logger could on occasion report the incorrect time for a few minutes after boot.

Known Supported Assets

The below list is not exhaustive, as the generic nature of the SA380TX lends itself to monitoring pretty much anything with analogue sensors, volt free contacts, or MODBUS digital registers. The following assets have proven track record of monitoring via the SA380TX.

Network Rail RADAR support can vary for some of these asset types. Please contact MPEC or your RADAR representative to check how to deploy these assets on the RADAR platform.

Key New Features:

The look and feel of the web interface and touchscreen has changed.

The following items are now configured via the “general” tab on the web config tool:

  • Triggered Captures

  • Connection Profile

  • Slave Units (including EbiTrack)

More powerful native analogue channel options have been introduced:

  • "Real Channels" Refer to channels present on either the master or slave loggers.

  • This includes analogue and digital physical channels, plugged into the units

  • It also includes any data sourced over the RS485 link from real assets or sensors

Note that the way in which analogue channels are configured has changed.

Analogue channels are now configured in a very similar way to our SA380TX-L data logger.

Powerful features have been introduced to allow enhanced filtering and sampling options.

The real power of the new firmware can be leveraged through the "virtual channels" tab.

  • Perform discrete logic and arithmetic operations on analogue and digital data.

  • Perform data aggregation using timers, counters and filters

  • Prove sequence of events with latches.
