Guide
Open the Alerts tab in Centrix.
Click the Create Alert dropdown in the bottom left of the screen, and select Points.
Select the Site for the asset you want to create the alarm for and fill in the remaining General Settings using the guidance below;
Field | Description | Example / recommendation |
---|---|---|
Site | The site that contains the asset you want to configure the alarm for | N/A |
Alert Name | This is the primary name for the alert that will be displayed on the alert listing and in any e-mails | e.g. 8003 Points Pressure (Movement) |
The list of e-mail addresses that should receive any alerts | Leave blank unless you don't use Labels, or want this alarm only for yourself | |
Subscribed | Whether e-mails should be sent or not | Checked |
Suppression Period | The period of time for which repeat alarms should be suppressed (not e-mailed) | 10-60 minutes would be a sensible default |
Priority | Priority of alarm, displayed on the alert listing and in the e-mail subject & body | Can be used depending on importance of asset, or when configuring multiple threshold levels (e.g. low/med/high) |
Labels | The labels to apply to the alert, will determine who receives e-mails for the alerts | Set-up a collection of labels for the groups of people that should receive certain alarms, then set them accordingly on the alarm |
Select the Capture for the asset you want to configure the threshold for.
Under Thresholds, click Add.
- Leave Direction as (– Any –) unless you want to configure different thresholds for N-R and R-N directions.
- Select Pressure Movement (Shared) as the Episode. This is a globally shared episode that represents the middle (movement) region of a pressure trace.
- Enter your desired value for the Max Upper threshold (e.g. 90)
- Click Save
Click OK to save the alarm.
Warning - Consistency checking
The effectiveness of using the shared (global) episode is dependent on the consistency between the shared episode and the specific asset you are configuring the alarm for. In some cases this may be so inconsistent that no alarms would ever fire.
Please read Validating the use of a shared (global) episode for an asset for further instruction.
