Connection of the S-LX system is via a monitoring port. The AzLM system may remain in service during installation.
Security Safety is assured by only connecting to 1 of duplicated or triplicated CPU devices found in each ACE. (2oo2 or 2oo3 safety system)When connected over USB, do not make the USB connection to the same CPU that is connected to the Interlocking.) (See SLX-TYP-AZLM-1)
Where Ethernet ports are already in use on all ACE CPUs, connection via USB is required, using a special “air-gapped” variant of the S-LX in order to control safety and reliability risks to a tolerable level. (See SLX-TYP-AZLM-2)
