It is possible to connect directly beween a computer and SA380TX using an Ethernet cable.

1) Check the SA380TX IP settings are correct

  • Naviagte to the Ethernet IP settings in the configuration menu

  • If the SA380TX is obtaining its IP address using DHCP, the IP settings screen will appear as below with "DHCP" written in the the highlighted button. To enable a direct connection, you need to change this to a static IP as shown by pressing this button such that it says "Static".


2) Connect the logger to a computer using a standard Ethernet cable.


  • Wait approximately 10 seconds for the logger to assign an IP address to your computer.
  • Start your web browser and type the IP address highligthed in green in the above image.

The above root directory structure will be displayed if the connection is successful.

Be aware that if the IP settings on your computer are fixed - This will need to be changed to "allow IP settings to be obatined automatically". This is beyond the scope of this user guide, however there are plenty of resources available on the Internet to help you



End: Remember to restore your original IP settings on the data logger and computer if you changed them!
